Bill McGlinchy arrives in Middlesborough to take charge of Blue Watch at Teesside Central fire station. While he is having trouble with a hitchiker, Blue Watch are busy squirting cats out of trees and setting fire to kitchens! Bill isn't happy. He later puts his foot in it with the Priestly family over Julie's career choice, and an unexploded bomb, a runaway car and a cyclohexane leak keeps Blue Watch busy at work.
